Understanding Hospice Care:

What It Is, What Medicare Covers, and How inHom Senior Care Comes Alongside to Support Families in Their Greatest Need

When a loved one is facing the end of life, families are thrust into a deeply emotional and complex chapter. But understanding hospice care and the support systems available can bring comfort, clarity, and a sense of control.
At inHom Senior Care, we partner with families to ensure their loved ones are cared for with dignity, compassion, and presence—at home, where it matters most.

What Is Hospice Care?

Hospice care is a specialized type of healthcare for individuals with a terminal illness, when curative treatments are no longer effective or desired. The focus shifts from curing disease to comforting the patient, supporting the family, and managing pain and symptoms—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Hospice is not a place—it’s a philosophy of care. Services can be provided in:

  • A patient’s home

  • A nursing facility or assisted living residence

  • A dedicated hospice inpatient unit

  • A hospital (for crisis symptom management)

The heart of hospice care lies in honoring quality of life, fostering peace, and ensuring loved ones are not left to walk this road alone.

How inHom Senior Care Supports Families Caring for a Loved One on Hospice

While inHom Senior Care is not a hospice provider, we work alongside your hospice agency to fill critical care gaps—offering the extra comfort, continuity, and presence every family needs.

Because every situation is unique, most families discover they need more than what the Medicare hospice benefit can provide. That’s where we come in—offering experienced caregivers at the bedside, helping with the little things that make all the difference.

Compassionate Personal Care

Our trained caregivers assist with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)—including bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and meals—ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety.

Emotional Support and Companionship

We offer companionship for those who don’t want to be alone, providing presence, prayer, music, storytelling, or simply quiet companionship—whatever brings peace.

Respite for Family Caregivers

Caring for a loved one can be overwhelming. We provide respite care so family caregivers can rest, step out, or just exhale.

Seamless Coordination with Hospice Providers

Our team stays in close communication with your hospice nurse and case manager to share updates, escalate concerns, and remain proactive.

24/7 Flexibility

Whether your loved one needs support overnight or in urgent situations between hospice visits, we are ready, responsive, and reliable—because you shouldn’t have to carry this burden alone.
